Senior Application Developer

Ronin Capital is looking to a hire a Senior Applications Developer. This position entails creating and maintaining the overall system architecture for an Options Trading group and leading a small development team to design, implement, and test trading applications. Position requires expertise in systems design, programming and integration of high-volume, high-availability applications. This position will be located in our Chicago, IL office.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with traders to understand business requirements and design efficient and scalable solutions based on technical expertise and experience.
  • Design automated trading systems.
  • Design, develop, test, rollout and maintain applications and modules.
  • Provide technical leadership to Application Developers.
  • Work with quantitative research team for the implementation of equity option volatility and theoretical pricing models.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date work plans while effectively communicating status to traders.
  • Provide technical hands-on assistance and mentoring to team members on projects.
  • Keep pace with new technologies, directions and the latest industry trends.
  • Follow firm and industry standards, procedures and methodologies for development of efficient application systems (i.e. design, design reviews, architect reviews and code reviews).
  • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years development with C++, C#, or Java in a Windows-based environment.
  • Experience with large-scale system design and implementation with solid software development and project management methodology experience.
  • Development experience with various messaging architectures (such as Tibco R/V).
  • Previous lead development experience with trading systems, automated trading systems and/or high volume transactional systems.
  • Ability to lead a small development team and manage relationship with key traders.
  • Experience with RAD type environments as well as full project lifecycle environments.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and design.
  • Strong mathematical background with an understanding of financial models and statistical analysis.
  • Strong commitment to working collaboratively in a team and being held accountable for achieving business goals.
  • Ability to successfully work in a high-pressure, dynamic trading environment.
  • Good team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
