Telecom Network Engineer

Ronin Capital, LLC is a limited liability company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois with offices in New York and California. The Firm and its affiliates are registered broker/dealers and members of the AMEX, CBOE, CBOT, CME, CHX and the NYMEX. The Firm currently has proprietary trading operations covering a variety of markets including equity securities, government bonds, corporate bonds, and related derivatives on global exchanges and electronically. There are currently more than 250 employees and affiliated persons.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Act as a primary point of contact and resolve telecommunication issues, including:

o        Phone System

o        IPC Turret System

o        Mobile Phones (Blackberry / Windows Mobile)

·         Act as a primary point of contact in WAN circuit troubleshooting including:

o        DS1/DS3 Circuits

o        POTS Lines

o        Metro Ethernet Circuits

·         Manage contracts for circuits to handle renewals, cancellations, and orders.

·         Work with Networking team to provision and install new circuits and services.

·         Work with Infrastructure team to handle riser management and usage.

·         Perform Move/Add/Change services with the Desktop and Infrastructure teams.

·         Create and maintain documentation of existing circuits, demarcs, and carriers of phone, TDM, and Ethernet services.

·         Maintain relationships with carriers, circuit, and system vendors.

·         Perform related duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent industry experience.

·         2+ years of experience at a trading firm, hedge fund or other finance/brokerage firm.

·         Initiative and proven ability to communicate with clients with minimal supervision.

·         Ability to work in a complex technology environment.

·         Ability to deal with time critical and industry specific pressures with minimal

      supervision.      

·         Excellent problem definition and resolution skills.

·         Communication skills including the ability to act as a hub of contact to summarize and disseminate critical information under pressure.

·         Ability to execute time sensitive results while working within a team environment.

  •   Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to document processes and   

      procedures.

  •   Self motivated individual with an eagerness to learn and strengthen their IT knowledge.

·         Experience with Nortel Option 11 systems and software.
