Trading Assistant

Ronin is currently looking to hire a Trading Assistant. Working with Options Traders, the individual selected will enter the Firm in our Chicago office and will go through our Internet-based training and attend formal, proprietary education classes in the evenings with the anticipated end-result to trade options for the Firm. This position is located in our Chicago, IL office.

This is a unique opportunity for anyone interested in the trading industry. This position allows individuals to familiarize themselves with different products and to work with some of the most senior and skilled traders, risk managers and operational experts in the business.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Providing operational support for Off-Floor and Floor Traders.
  • Collecting/disseminating information to floor traders.
  • Analyzing relative volatilities and suggesting theoretical trades.
  • Back-testing new trading strategies to determine theoretical profits.
  • Learning network protocols to assist in executing orders.
  • Researching new trading ideas.
  • Identifying, reconciling, and resolving futures, options, and stock differences.
  • Processing Exercise/Assignment instructions internally and externally.
  • Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the Firm’s position by cross-checking corrections, additions, deletions, and price changes to the database.
  • Performing related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent. Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science degree preferred.
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties as assigned.
  • Meticulous and detail oriented with strong critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems that may occur before, during, and after the trading day.
  • Able to work in and contribute to the team atmosphere.
  • Desire and aptitude to learn and understand Options Trading.
  • Proficiency with software and system applications (Excel, MS Word, etc.) and ability to learn internal applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
