Data Support Specialist

Ronin is looking to hire a Data Support Specialist with prior experience working in a Trading Firm or Market Data Vendor Environment. The Data Support Specialist manages the collection, integration and distribution of trade and quote data recorded by Ronin market data feed handlers and responds to client’s inquiries concerning support, application availability and general questions. The Data Support Specialist supports and maintains related third-party applications such as Market QA, OneTick, FastTick, TAQ, etc., and works closely with the Market Data Manager and Development Team.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Support timely collection, ingestion and distribution of daily tick data captures utilizing third-party applications.
  • Validate data integrity of captures and correct errors as needed.
  • Support daily operation of the firm’s data analysis software packages such as OneTick and Market QA, work closely with the vendor on resolving issues as needed.
  • Train users in the use of third-party data analysis software and assist with generation and optimization of queries as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance tests on data download processes and new third-party software releases.
  • Diagnose problems through troubleshooting skills, logic, research, and isolation steps.
  • Configure, support and perform routine maintenance of related third-party software as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors’ degree in MIS, Computer Science, Finance or a related field or equivalent.
  • One to two years experience in a support role, providing market data and software support.
  • Experience with constructing SQL queries (Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase).
  • Experience with financial analysis tools (Thomson Reuters Market QA, FastTick, OneTick, Bloomberg).
  • Clear understanding of trading data, financial education background preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in and contribute in a team environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and develop resolutions to complex problems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions, complete time-sensitive tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to document processes and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to begin working at 7:30 AM on a daily basis and rotate start and finish times as required.
